PTA Committees
Can you donate some of your time and talents to our wonderful activities and fundraisers? Consider just 2 hours - either during or after school, weekday or weekend events... there are many options!
Benefit Night – As part of our fundraising efforts, the PTA hosts wildly popular ‘Benefit Nights’ at local restaurants approximately once a month during the school year. You purchase your order and PTA gets a portion of the profits.
Boo Hoo Breakfast – Kindergarten parents are welcome to stay after drop off on the first day of school to meet other parents, learn about PTA, meet some of our officers and district administrative staff at the Boo Hoo Breakfast.
Box Tops – This committee collects box tops turned in by students throughout the year and submits them to help our schools earn money.
Calendar – At the end of the school year we begin to build the calendar for the next year. This committee will gather dates of events, design and get the calendar printed.
Cultural Festival – Cultural Festival is a much loved event in our district that celebrates the many cultures that contribute to our diverse community with different cultural foods, dances, crafts and more.
Fall Fundraising Sales - Gift wrap is one of PTA’s biggest fund-raisers and takes place in the beginning of the school year, typically September.
Holmes School Activities – This committee will plan a ‘Family Night’ in the fall, winter craft, movie night, and assist with our Cultural Festival in the spring. Committee members may also be called upon to help with Picture Day, Jump Rope For Heart, Hearing and Vision Screening and Field Day.
Maercker School Activities – This committee will plan one ‘Family Night’ in the fall, winter activity, movie night, and an event in the spring. Chairs will also be the PBIS liaison for the school. Committee members may also be called upon to help with Picture Day, Jump Rope For Heart, Hearing and Vision Screening and Field Day.
Parent Trivia Night - *NEW THIS YEAR* PTA will be hosting a parents only night of fun with trivia, food and raffles.
A Day of Awesomeness - *NEW THIS YEAR* In the spring this year we will be piloting a new fundraising event with interactive obstacle courses and games.
Science Fair – Every winter we host our annual science fair. District 60 students are encouraged to create an experiment or exhibit for the fair that will be reviewed by judges. We also have a community partners section of exhibits from local businesses. No science background is needed. Volunteers are needed in organizing the event and helping the day of Science Fair.
Westview Hills Dance Committee – Committee chairs will plan the three evening dances at Westview and assist at the events. We partner with the student senate, who provides the theme and decorations.
Winter Toy Wonderland – This event allows students the chance to shop for small gifts and toys before winter break. It is in conjunction with fall fundraiser product pick-up.
8th Grade Dinner Dance -This is a committee made up of mostly 8th grade parents. The purpose is to organize an evening social for the 8th grade graduates at the end of May. It is an opportunity for the graduates to socialize with their friends one last time as a class.
Read to Succeed – this committee tracks student reading hours to help them earn free tickets to Six Flags Great America.
School Supply Kits – This committee works with a organization to sell school supply kits. The sale happens in the Spring and delivery is at the PTA day in August.
Scrips – Gift card sales. Need to purchase multiple gift cards for holidays, birthday, thank you gifts? Order them through PTA and we receive part of the profit.
Spirit Wear – This committee contracts with a supplier for spirit wear for all three schools. We have a sale in the Fall for Holiday delivery and then again in the Spring during registration processes.
Wildcat Dash – The Wildcat Dash is a fun-filled event that promotes healthy lifestyles, builds a sense of community, and raises funds for the PTA.
